We knew it was coming. It was just a question of when. This morning, Adobe announced the release of Creative Suite 2, an upgrade to their line of flagship applications. Like its predecessor, Adobe CS, this second suite includes new versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive, Acrobat Professional and Version Cue. A new addition, Adobe Bridge, based on the File Browser introduced in Photoshop 7.0, provides centralized access to Creative Suite project files, applications, and settings. There are still two varieties of Creative Suite, Standard and Premium. Premium includes all previously mentioned applications. Creative Suite Standard does not include GoLive or Acrobat Professional. The upgrade from Creative Suite CS is $349. Upgrade a previous version of Photoshop to Creative Suite 2 for $499. Watch for a more in-depth review of Creative Suite 2 in my next column. Until then, visit www.adobe.com for more information.
